The education unions have released their concerns regarding the budget recently announced by the Ontario Conservatives. The Ford government continues to insist that education is imperative for economic recovery, yet is not willing to seriously address the very issues that would ensure a better and safer education system for all. They need to truly invest in Education!

Occupational violence is a daily reality for far too many workers in Canada.
It is preventable and should never be seen as just “part of the job”.
If anyone ever tells you violence is part of your job, contact your union right away. The most important first step of dealing with workplace violence is accurate reporting of all incidents. No worker should ever be deterred from or made to feel less than by exercising their right to report occupational violence. In fact, it is the law in Ontario (Occupational Health and Safety Act).
