New Pay Rates/Retro Pay
Everyone should have received a memo from Human Resources about the pay increases and the retro pay. The new rates went into effect on Monday, March 25, 2024 and will be reflected on your next pay.
The new pay grids and the new collective agreement are just being finalized and will be posted to the board website and to our website in the near future.
Until then, you will be able to see your updated rate of pay when the next pay stub is published on ESS.
National Day of Truth and Reconciliation – September 30, 2023
This Saturday, September 30, 2023 is National Truth and Reconciliation Day.
Since 2013, September 30 has been commemorated as “Orange Shirt Day”, inspired by the story of residential school survivor Phyllis Jack Webstad.
As a young girl, Phyllis was gifted a new orange shirt by her grandmother before she was taken to a B.C. residential school. The shirt was confiscated and destroyed by her teacher on the first day of classes. The story has come to symbolize the colonial assimilation goals of the residential school system.
Please wear an orange shirt to work on Friday, September 29, 2023 to commemorate the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

Ratification Results
I am pleased to announce that the members of CUPE Local 4186 have ratified the tentative collective agreement reached with the employer on April, 13, 2023.
