INFO & PICKET ASSIGNMENT APPLICATION FORM

PHASE 3 – Hopefully our provincial team will be successful next week in reaching a settlement. If not, we must be prepared for Phase 3 – which is rotating strikes. In order to help us ensure all planned picket locations are adequately covered, I am posting a Picket (Assignment) Application info sheet. We are asking that you fill it in and send back to us. As the form states, if we do not receive your preferences, you will be assigned through your family of schools. The form must be in by October 19th.

OCTOBER 9,2015 – We remain in Phase 2. If the provincial team does not reach agreement next week, we will be looking at moving into Phase 3. Specific info regarding Phase 3 will be posted or sent out via robo call as soon as it is available.
In the meantime, please remember to continue to follow Phase 2 Instructions. If you have questions or concerns please contact us. Please note that all of the instructions we send out are from our Provincial organization. We do not make them up locally. When we voted to become part of the central bargaining process, we signed on for the long haul. We know this is not easy. It is in fact, legal Strike Action that we are involved in. We have not yet completely withdrawn our services. At this point, we are withdrawing only some of the many, many services we offer to this board. Please stay within the parameters of the instructions sheets. As long as you follow the instructions that have been posted on here, you are within your legal rights. DO NOT ADD to the instruction sheets or choose to not complete other duties not outlined.

IF YOU FEEL YOU ARE BEING PRESSURED OR ARE DIRECTED BY YOUR SUPERVISOR TO PERFORM A TASK THAT YOU BELIEVE IS RESTRICTED DUE TO WORK TO RULE (WHICH I REMIND YOU AGAIN IS A LEGAL STRIKE ACTION) PLEASE REQUEST THE DIRECTION IN WRITING. PLEASE CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY FOR FOLLUP ACTION ON THE PART OF THE UNION. As the bargaining update says – “THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO ASK AND WE HAVE A RIGHT TO SAY NO.”
